Meet Jo: 21 years of making a difference at Southdown
Jo, a colleague for 21 years, shares how a sense of care, connection, and shared purpose has given her a feeling of belonging here at Southdown.
We’re proud to share this short film featuring Jo, who has dedicated nearly 21 years to supporting people across our Learning Disability services.
In Jo’s own words, Southdown is a place where people feel genuinely valued—a sense of care, connection, and shared purpose that has kept her here for over two decades.
Jo’s career in social care began with West Sussex County Council, where she progressed from care assistant to deputy manager, supporting both children and adults with learning disabilities. As supported living models began to emerge, Jo played a key role in connecting people with Southdown’s new services. It wasn’t long before she joined the team herself as a Service Manager—and she’s been making an impact ever since.
Watch Jo’s story and discover what drives her passion for person-centered support.
