Understanding your mental health is powerful
Recovery isn't just about managing symptoms - it's about building a life that feels meaningful.
Learning about your mental health can help you understand what's happening, develop coping strategies, and feel more in control.
Our Recovery College offers free courses designed and delivered by people with lived experience, alongside mental health professionals.
Everyone is welcome – whether you use mental health services or not.

Recovery College
Brighton and Hove | Sussex Partnership
Free courses designed and delivered by people with lived experience, alongside mental health professionals - in a supportive, non-clinical environment.
What you can learn
- Understanding anxiety, depression, and other conditions
- Coping strategies and self-care
- Building confidence and self-esteem
- Creative and practical skills
How it works
The Recovery College is run in partnership with Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Courses are co-produced and co-delivered by people with lived experience of mental health challenges alongside clinical professionals.
It’s a learning environment, not a clinical one – you’re a student, not a patient. Everyone attends as equals
I engaged in workshops and classes which enabled me to gain insights into problems I was having, but more importantly enabled me to meet other individuals who were struggling with similar issues.
