The Wellbeing Hub Exhibits At Brighton Photo Fringe

Thirty creatives who access support from The Wellbeing Hub at Preston Park have each submitted a photographic image for the tenth biennial Brighton Photo Fringe this year!

The Brighton Photo Fringe is a key event in the city’s cultural calendar and we are proud to be involved in such an exciting festival.

Open seven days a week, The Wellbeing Hub at Preston Park is part of the UOK Brighton and Hove mental health and wellbeing network. It provides a welcoming and supportive environment where people with mental health support needs can learn new skills and get involved in a variety of groups and activities, online and in person. The Wellbeing Hub also provides access to a specialist employment service, a welfare benefits service, and a cafe.

In this exhibition, the The Wellbeing Hub creatives respond to the Fringe’s Real Utopias theme with images that celebrate the magical moments that have captured their attention and imagination in the natural world and the meaningful things around them. The photographs represent moments of mindful connection, reflection and wonder, slowing down and taking notice.

At The Hub we work with the NHS 5 Ways to Wellbeing –

• Connect with other people
• Be physically active
• Learn new skills
• Give to others
• Pay attention to the present moment (mindfulness).

Photography is a great way to lean into mindfulness and also retain poignant memories that we can look back on with fondness and feel comforted on our darker days.

The artwork is currently being exhibited at the Florence Road Cafe, Florence Road, Brighton from 6-29 October, 8.30am – 4pm.
